Schools & Arts Organisations
I love coming into schools and sharing stories from all around the world. I have a wonderful storytelling bag of stories, myths, folktales, wonder tales and true life tales. Great for World Book Day and World Storytelling Day as well as the National Curriculum.
Always delighted to create a bespoke storytelling experience and workshops and seek out new stories to share to tie in with any theme or celebration.
Recently I enjoyed sharing stories featuring horses as a golden thread with a primary school for an entire day and worked with another school who were twinned with a school in Mali to bring tales from that land where I myself had travelled, using woven cloth, wooden carvings and photographs to create stories and inspire the children to write and tell stories to share across the ocean from their heritage. I work with poetry, games, movement and voice to encourage developing confidence, skills, vocabulary and imagination
Working with Arts Organisations
I have created bespoke workshops for schools and for arts organisations to tie in with one-off celebrations and events and also over many weeks to dovetail with class studies and the national curriculum. I have also been commissioned to create ongoing connection between schools and their twinned schools in other countries sharing stories from other cultures and countries as well as finding where our lives meet and we recognise each other as friends on these story journeys.
All workshops are designed to naturally encourage a development of confidence, learning through the senses and to weave stories both mythical and real, encouraging all those participating to find their inner storyteller. I particularly like to work with autobiographical stories and true life tales as well as myths, wonder tales, folklore and poetry.
I am always happy to come in and meet to discuss ideas and ways in which I can create experiences for young people, adults and families to deliver in school settings or in other locations.
